Leuven-subanestrujenbajen

Things that have caught my eye:
1. a female octogenarian on a scooter
2. people frantically riding bikes that have a basket up front, saddlebags on the rear tire and foot rests for the small child perched on the handlebars.
3.streets named : drinkwater

First full day of being here went well, I had to register at school which was harder that it may seem. Apparently "higher education" means "secondary education" which means high school. I must have walked 2 hours today which explains why the girls here can wear short skirts while pedaling madly down the streets (nice calfs). So all day was tied up with bureaucratic minutiae. Paid rent, went to point A to get a piece of paper, then to point B to get the paper stamped then back to point A to get a scratch card with my internet access information. The only person I have met so far in person is Betty Van Verdokensmaekcer, who is much less dainty that her name implies. Finally got home after eating a broccoli soup and bread at a cafe (and a stella beer of course). I am alone in the house thus far, although the chinese girl should come this weekend and then the 3 belgians the 19th... kinda nice cause then i can blare the song from bridget jones diary (all by myself). JUST kidding, mom. Then i figured out the blog a little bit which had my mom chuckling i am sure. Weather is great, sunny and warm.
I am going to try to get some sleep now so that I can go to register at the PD and city hall tomorrow. geez. you should all get hotmail IM!
